(a) Any periods of incapacity that result from involvement in illegal activities, the excessive use of alcohol or drugs, or use
of illegal substances will not be allowable for sick leave purposes, unless the employee is under the treatment of a licensed
physician, or on an inpatient basis in a medically approved hospital/treatment facility.
(b) Illness occurring while on vacation shall not be paid as sick leave unless the illness is a qualifying event as provided in
the family and medical leave policy.
(c) Sick leave shall not be used in conjunction with a disciplinary suspension without pay.
